Pay differences – it’s all in the data and how you look at it

Men and women, it turns out, work in different realities. What one group perceives as fact, the other sees something different.

As a woman who has studied and been in the workplace for more than 20 years I’ve often thought there is a gap between what we perceive and reality. The third annual US Women Professionals in the Workplace report from HiBob demonstrates how men and women see the workforce.

And maybe neither live in reality.

Equal pay for equal work?

The HiBob report finds that eight out of 10 (82%) of men believe that men and women are paid equally for the same job at their place of work.

Meanwhile, just 56% of women believe the same thing.
