LinkedIn  helpfully reminded me that it’s been one year since I joined Inc. Time flies when you’re having fun. I really enjoy the format at Inc, and I enjoy the people I work with there. It’s been a different ride than my standard EHRL stuff, but a great growth curve for me. (And let’s face it, it’s all about my needs.) So, I thought I’d share some of my favorite articles:

My favoriteThink Your Interview Process is Fair: Read This Letter. This one has a rotten headline. I stink at headline writing. But, it’s a nice satire piece about what would happen if job candidate treated hiring managers the way their are treated. I think with a better headline, it could have done better. Read it, and if you like it, share it. (And if you don’t like it, share it anyway, because it’s funny.)

Most read: The Shock and Awe of Ikea’s Spying Program. Nobody shared this article, and nobody commented on it, but lots of people read it. I’m not a big fan of corporate spying, but I totally understand the need to do it sometimes.

Most shared: Want Happier Employees? Feed Them. This one resonates with a lot of us. Let’s face it, giving someone a free lunch does far more than handing them the equivalent money in cash. I love food. Yes, I do. I totally support the idea of feeding me, ummm, your employees.

My favorite company interview: Motivating Employees, “We’re Not a Family, But We Are a Tribe.”  This was a hard choice. One thing I love about working with Inc is that I get to interview companies about their best practices. (And yes, if your company has an awesome best practice, I want to hear about you.) I’ve loved all the companies, I’ve talked to, but by golly, after talking with Big Ass Fans, I wanted to go work for them. Except for the fact that they are located on a different continent than I live on and they didn’t offer me a job.

Random articles that I just like:

Thanks for sticking with me!
