Welcome back – and thanks for sharing your vacation pics!
In high school, many, many decades ago; we had an exchange student from Yugoslavia. He was such a great, fun-loving, wonderful guy. We lost touch with him when Yugoslavia broke up. Some friends from Germany went looking for him and his family in the late 90s, only to find his village was empty of most people. No one there knew what happened to him or his family. “They went away” was the only response given. It was so sad to hear that.
However, it was kind of heart-warming to see your vacation photos to know that the area is kind of bouncing back. Thanks!
